The hospital

The hospital complex of the Aosta Valley Health Service is situated in Aosta, the regional capital.

The structure includes all diagnostic, care and rehabilitation services for illnesses requiring hospital treatment and it possesses an advanced level of technology: the operating theatre is equipped with modern laparoscopic instrumentation, including the ” robot chirurgico “Da VinciT ” (surgical robot) and amongst the diagnostic instruments can be found magnetic resonance, two spiral TACs, angiografy,and radiocardiogram.

The intensive post-operatory therapy wards, intensive care, coronary and dialysis units ensure that the appropriate response is made to those high risk cardio-respiratory patients.

The general surgery operative unit

Within the hospital structure the General Surgery section has been busy now for many years on the scientific state-of-the art and excellence front.

Under the guide of the Director, Dr Umberto Parini , it has become one of the greatest reference points at the national and international level in the fields of advanced laparoscopic surgery, oncology surgery, obesity surgery as well as videosurgery.

The total activity, which moves between stay wards, day surgery and out-patint clinics, concerns surgery of the gastroenteritic tract and of the abdominal walls, proctology, pediatric surgery, illnesses of the pelvic base, and bariatric surgery.
